Ethereum Team Lead Voices Concerns Over Network’s Future

According to Odaily, Ethereum Team Lead Péter Szilágyi has expressed concerns about the direction of Ethereum’s development, particularly regarding the PeerDAS proposal. This proposal suggests increasing the Ethereum blob size to 32 MB. Szilágyi believes that the PeerDAS upgrade will hinder home stakers, who typically have simpler computational setups, from participating in the Ethereum network, which contradicts the spirit of decentralization.

Szilágyi took to social media platform X to voice his worries, stating, ‘Ethereum researchers are openly ‘murdering’ home stakers. This is not what I signed up for when I joined Ethereum. I would love to prove otherwise, but I feel Ethereum is losing its mainline. The research team seems to have fully embraced the idea of centralizing everything as long as it can be verified. It’s a joke: decentralized verification but centralized control.’
